Chíquiza is a municipality and town located in the Central Boyacá Province of the Colombian Department of Boyacá. Situated on the Altiplano Cundiboyacense, the urban center of the municipality sits at an altitude of 2,900 metres (9,500 ft). It is positioned approximately 24 kilometres (15 mi) from Tunja, which serves as the department capital.
The town was formerly known as San Pedro de Iguaque until its name was officially changed to Chíquiza on July 17, 2003. Geographically, the municipality shares borders with Arcabuco to the north, Sora and Sáchica to the south, Villa de Leyva to the west, and Motavita to the east.
