Villapinzón is a municipality and town located in the Almeidas Province of the Cundinamarca department in Colombia. The urban center is situated on the Altiplano Cundiboyacense at an elevation of 2,715 metres (8,907 ft), approximately 80 kilometres (50 mi) from the capital city of Bogotá.
The municipality is positioned in the uppermost part of the Bogotá River Basin. Notably, the origin of the Bogotá River is located within Villapinzón at an elevation of 3,400 metres (11,200 ft). It shares borders with several neighboring municipalities, including Ventaquemada, Lenguazaque, Chocontá, Tibiritá, La Capilla, Turmequé, and Úmbita.
