Tocancipá is a municipality and town located in the Central Savanna Province of Colombia, within the department of Cundinamarca. It is situated in the northern part of the Bogotá savanna as part of the Altiplano Cundiboyacense in the Eastern Ranges of the Colombian Andes. The urban center of the town sits at an altitude of 2,605 metres (8,547 ft).
The municipality is located approximately 42 kilometres (26 mi) north of the capital city, Bogotá, which includes Tocancipá within its metropolitan area. It shares borders with Gachancipá to the north, Guasca and Sopó to the south, Guatavita to the east, and Zipaquirá to the west.
