Guaduas is a municipality and town located in the Lower Magdalena Province department of Cundinamarca, Colombia. Situated approximately 117 km from the capital city of Bogotá, it serves as an important agricultural and tourist center with a population of about 33,000 residents.
The name of the municipality refers to a specific type of bamboo cane. The town is situated along the Bogotá-Medellín highway and holds religious significance as one of the seats of the Roman Catholic Diocese of La Dorada–Guaduas. Additionally, its main plaza is notable for being featured on the Colombian ten-thousand pesos bill.
