Gachalá is a municipality and town located in Colombia within the Guavio Province of the Cundinamarca department. The urban center of the municipality is situated at an altitude of 1,712 metres (5,617 ft) in the Eastern Ranges of the Colombian Andes, approximately 148 kilometres (92 mi) from the capital city of Bogotá.
The municipality shares borders with several neighboring regions. To the north, it borders the western portion of the split municipality of Ubalá and the department of Boyacá. Its eastern boundaries are defined by the eastern part of Ubalá and Medina, while the west is bordered by Fómeque, Junín, and Gama. The southern boundary is shared with Fómeque, Medina, and the department of Meta.
