Roncesvalles is a small village and municipality located in the province of Navarre in northern Spain. It is situated in the Pyrenees mountain range at an altitude of approximately 900 metres (3,000 ft).
The village sits on the Urrobi River and is positioned near the French border. It is located about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from the border as the crow flies, or roughly 21 kilometres (13 mi) away by road.
