Sincelejo is the capital and largest city of the Colombian department of Sucre, located in the Caribbean region. It serves as the administrative center for the Sabanas subregion and ranks as the 25th largest city in Colombia by population.
The city is situated approximately 30 kilometers from the Gulf of Morrosquillo on the Caribbean Sea. It lies roughly 125 kilometers from Cartagena and 200 kilometers from Barranquilla.
