Colombia

Chipata is a city and the administrative centre of the Eastern Province and Chipata District in Zambia. It was officially declared the fifth city in the country on February 24, 2017, by President Edgar Lungu, following Lusaka, Ndola, Kitwe, and Livingstone.

The city's designation as a municipal center followed a period of rapid economic and infrastructure growth. It serves as a primary hub for the Eastern Province region.
