Salento is a cultural, historical, and geographic region located at the southern end of the Apulia administrative region in southern Italy. It is situated on a sub-peninsula of the Italian Peninsula, which is frequently described as the "heel" of the Italian "boot."
The region encompasses the entire administrative area of the Province of Lecce, along with most of the Province of Brindisi and the south-eastern portion of the Province of Taranto.
