Uribia is a small city and municipality located in the La Guajira department of Colombia. Established as the youngest municipality in the department since the year 2000, it serves as a notable geographic point within the region.
The municipality is home to several significant geographical and industrial features. It contains the northern zone of the Cerrejón coal mines and houses the Serranía de Macuira mountain range. This isolated low-altitude mountain range sits in the middle of the La Guajira Desert, with one third of its area designated as a National Natural Park of Colombia.
