Hatonuevo

Hatonuevo is a town and municipality located in the Colombian Department of La Guajira. Its name translates from Spanish to "New Herd." The municipality was officially established as such in 1994.

The town has a population of approximately 17,014 inhabitants. A significant majority of these residents are workers employed at the El Cerrejon coal mine.
