Distracción is a town and municipality located in the Colombian Department of La Guajira. It was established in 1845 by Antonio María Vidal, an individual originating from the neighboring town of Barrancas.
The settlement was founded on the right margin of the Ranchería River. It serves as a local administrative and residential center within the department.
