Quibdó is the capital city of the Chocó Department, located in the Pacific Region of Colombia. It is situated along the banks of the Atrato River.
The municipality covers a total area of 3,507 square kilometres (1,354 sq mi). It has a population of 129,237 people, which is predominantly composed of Afro Colombians, including Zambo Colombians.
