Nuqui

Nuquí is a municipality and town located in the Chocó Department in the western part of Colombia. It is situated between the mountainous region of Baudó and the Pacific Ocean. The municipality was officially founded in 1915, having previously existed as a sub-division of the municipality of Valle, Chocó.

The area is characterized by significant cultural diversity and a wide variety of flora and fauna. The population of Nuquí consists of 8,096 inhabitants, with 3,095 residing in the municipal capital. The demographic makeup of the region primarily includes Afro-Colombians and members of various indigenous tribes.
