Tamalameque is a town and municipality located in the Colombian Department of Cesar. It was originally established as the site of Thamara, a settlement belonging to the Chimila people.
The municipality is situated on the right bank of the Magdalena River. It shares borders with the municipalities of Chimichagua and Pailitas to the north, Pelaya to the east, and La Gloria to the south, while bordering the departments of Bolívar and Magdalena to the west.
