Caloto is a town and municipality located in the Cauca Department of Colombia. It serves as a local administrative center within the region.
The settlement was founded on June 29, 1543, by Sebastián de Belalcázar. Since its establishment during the colonial period, it has remained a recognized municipality within the department's territory.
