Cravo Norte is a town and municipality located in the Arauca Department of Colombia. It serves as a local administrative center within the region.
The settlement is believed to have been founded in 1538 by the Jesuit missionary Joseph Gumilla. Historical records indicate that the first census for the area was conducted in May 1797, which recorded a population of 205 residents.
