Yongchuan is a district located in the municipality of Chongqing, China. It is situated on the north side of the upper reach of the Yangtze River and serves as a region with a history spanning approximately 1,200 years.
The district borders the Sichuan province to its southwest. Geographically, it is positioned 63 km (39 mi) from Yuzhong District in central Chongqing and 276 km (171 mi) from Chengdu.
