Weituo is a city located in China.
In Buddhist tradition, Weituo is also known as Skanda or Idaten. He is a Mahayana bodhisattva recognized as a devoted guardian of Buddhist monasteries who serves to protect the teachings of Buddhism.
Within Chinese tradition, he is referred to as "Hufa Weituo Zuntian Pusa," which translates to "Honored Dharma Protector Weituo Bodhisattva." This title stems from his status as one of the twenty-four celestial guardian deities described in the Golden Light Sutra.
