Changyuan is a county-level city located in the eastern part of Henan Province, China. It shares a border with Shandong Province to its east.
The administrative status of Changyuan changed on January 1, 2014, when it transitioned from being under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Xinxiang to being directly administered by Henan Province.
