Baoxing County is one of seven counties located under the administration of Ya'an City in west-central Sichuan Province, China. Situated along the upper reaches of the Qingyi River, the region serves as a significant geopolitical crossroad and transportation hub for the area.
The county is recognized as a major biodiversity hotspot and a type locality for numerous endangered species, such as the giant panda, golden snub-nosed monkey, Chinese thrush, dove tree, and Oreolalax popei. In 2006, UNESCO designated Baoxing as part of the World Heritage Site known as the Sichuan Giant Panda Sanctuaries - Wolong, Mt Siguniang and Jiajin Mountain.
