Ziyang is a prefecture-level city located in eastern Sichuan province, China. It is situated in a region bordered by several major administrative areas, including the provincial capital of Chengdu to the northwest, Deyang to the north, Suining to the northeast, Chongqing municipality to the east, and Neijiang to the west.
The city's development is considered significant due to its proximity to the Chengdu new Airport and economic zone. According to the 2020 Chinese census, Ziyang had a total population of 2,308,631 inhabitants, with 867,119 of those residents living in the built-up area of Yanjiang District.
