Suining is a prefecture-level city located in the eastern region of Sichuan province in Southwest China. The city serves as an administrative hub within the province and is identified by various transliterations including Sùiníng (Pinyin), Xu4nin2 (Sichuanese Pinyin), and Sui-ning (Wade–Giles).
According to data from the 2020 census, Suining has a total population of 2,814,196. Of this total population, approximately 1,612,641 residents live within built-up or metropolitan areas.
