Qionglai is a county-level city located in the Sichuan Province of Southwest China. It falls under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Chengdu and is situated approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) from downtown Chengdu.
The city is positioned on the western edge of the Sichuan Basin, nestled within the foothills of the Qionglai Mountains. These mountains serve as a natural boundary for the basin to the west. To its west, Qionglai shares a border with the prefecture-level city of Ya'an.
