Deyang is a prefecture-level city located in the Sichuan province of China. It covers a total land area of approximately 5,911 square kilometers (2,282 square miles).
The city serves as a significant industrial hub, hosting major operations for companies including Dongfang Electric and China National Erzhong Group. Historically, the region is notable for the Sanxingdui archaeological site in Guanghan, which yielded an extensive collection of gold and bronze masks.
Deyang was severely affected by the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. The disaster particularly impacted the county-level cities of Mianzhu and Shifang, located in the northwestern part of the prefecture.
