Dazhou is a prefecture-level city located in the northeastern region of Sichuan province, China. It shares geographical borders with Shaanxi province to the north and Chongqing to the east and south.
As of late 2024 and early 2025, the city has a resident population of approximately 5,304,300 people. The urbanization rate stands at 52.72%, with an urban population of 2.794 million and a rural population of 2.506 million residing within its built-up area, which consists of two urban districts.
