Barkam

Barkam, also known as Maerkang or Muerkvua, is a county-level city located in the northwest part of Sichuan province, China. It serves as the seat of the town of Barkam and is situated within the Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture.

According to the 2010 Chinese Census, the city has a population of 58,437 residents. The region is characterized by its administrative status within an autonomous prefecture that recognizes both Tibetan and Qiang cultural identities.
