Zhanjiang is a coastal prefecture-level city in southern China, situated on the Leizhou Peninsula within Guangdong province. It administers the entirety of the peninsula and is positioned directly across the Qiongzhou Strait from Haikou, the capital of Hainan province.
The city serves as the southernmost port on the coast of mainland China, functioning as a primary center for commerce and navigation throughout much of southwestern China. The urban center of Zhanjiang is composed of four districts: Chikan, Xiashan, Potou, and Mazhang.
