Shanwei, also known as Swabue or Hailufeng, is a resort city located in eastern Guangdong province, China. It is situated approximately 120 kilometres (75 mi) east of Shenzhen and faces the South China Sea to the south.
The city borders Jieyang to the east, Meizhou and Heyuan to the north, and Huizhou to the west. Most local residents speak the Haifeng dialect, which is a variety of Southern Min.
