Mei long is a genus of duck-sized troodontid dinosaur that was first discovered by paleontologists in China. The fossils were unearthed from the Yixian Formation located in Liaoning province. These prehistoric creatures lived during the Early Cretaceous period.
The binomial name for the only known species within this genus, Mei long, translates to "sleeping dragon." It is recognized as a small dinosaur characterized by its specific anatomical features found in the fossil record of Northeast China.
