Maoming, also romanized as Mowming, is a prefecture-level city situated in southwestern Guangdong province, China. It faces the South China Sea to its south and shares borders with Zhanjiang to the west, Yangjiang to the east, and Yunfu to the northeast. The city is located 362 kilometers from Guangzhou and 121 kilometers from Zhanjiang.
The city serves as a significant commercial hub featuring Maoming Port, a Grade I port that handled 16.8 million tons of cargo in 2007. Its primary export products consist of refined oil and aquatic products, which are shipped to various destinations including Hong Kong, Macao, and several ASEAN member nations.
