Jieyang

Jieyang is a prefecture-level city located in eastern Guangdong Province, China. It is situated within the Chaoshan region and borders several other cities, including Shantou to the east, Chaozhou to the northeast, Meizhou to the north, and Shanwei to the west. To its south, the city faces the South China Sea.

The city is characterized by its distinct cultural identity, as the local population speaks Chaoshan Min, which differs from the Yue dialect spoken in neighboring areas. Historically, Jieyang is recognized as an important hometown for many overseas Chinese residing in Southeast Asia.
