Yuxi is a prefecture-level city located in the central region of Yunnan province in the People's Republic of China. The administrative center of the city is Hongta District, and it is situated approximately 90 kilometres (56 mi) south of Kunming.
As of the end of 2024, Yuxi had an estimated resident population of 2.266 million people.
