Shangjie is one of the six urban districts of Zhengzhou, which serves as the capital city of Henan Province in South Central China. It is situated approximately 38 kilometres (24 mi) west of the city proper, positioned between Mount Song to the south and the Yellow River to the north. Notably, Shangjie is not contiguous with the other five districts of Zhengzhou.
Established as an industrial zone in 1958, the district covers an area of 64.7 square kilometres (25.0 sq mi). It currently has a population of approximately 130,000 residents.
