Mangshi, formerly known as Luxi, is a county-level city located in western Yunnan province, China. It serves as the administrative seat of the Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture. The city covers a total area of 2,900.91 km2 (1,120.05 sq mi), with an urban area spanning 18.66 km2 (7.20 sq mi).
The region is characterized by its diverse demographic makeup, with Han Chinese, Dai people, and Jingpo people as the major ethnic groups. While Luxi County was established in 1949, it was officially designated as a county-level city in 1996.
