Tanggu was formerly a district in the municipality of Tianjin, China. It is currently situated as part of the Binhai New Area. Geographically, it is located on the Hai River at the point where it enters the Bohai Sea.
The area serves as an important port for the city of Tianjin, which lies approximately 48 kilometers (30 miles) upriver. Additionally, the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area is located within its limits and oversees the construction of a bridge.
