Yangpingguan is a town located in central Ningqiang County within the southwestern Shaanxi province of China. It covers an area of 116 square kilometres (45 sq mi) and serves as a residential hub for approximately 26,000 people distributed across one community and 20 villages. The town is situated roughly 27.3 kilometres (17.0 mi) from the county seat in the upper Jialing River Valley.
The town derives its name from the geographic pass situated between the Qin Mountains to the north and the Daba Mountains to the south. Historically, this location served as a primary entry point into the Sichuan Basin from the north and was a key segment of the ancient Sichuan Trail. In modern infrastructure, Yangpingguan serves as an intersection for the Baoji–Chengdu and Yangpingguan–Ankang railways.
