Ankang is a prefecture-level city located in the southern region of Shaanxi Province in the People's Republic of China. It serves as a geographical border point,鄰接ing Hubei province to the east, Chongqing municipality to the south, and Sichuan province to the southwest.
The city covers a total area of 23,391 square kilometres (9,031 sq mi). Administratively, it consists of one urban district, eight counties, and the county-level city of Xunyang. According to the 2020 Chinese census, Ankang had a total population of 2,493,436 people, with 1,244,784 residents living in urban areas.
