Qingdao, archaically known as Tsingtao, is a prefecture-level city located in the eastern Shandong Province of China. It is situated across the Shandong Peninsula and faces the Yellow Sea.
The city borders the prefecture-level cities of Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west, and Rizhao to the southwest. The main urban area of Qingdao is connected to the Huangdao district by the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, which straddles the sea areas of Jiaozhou Bay.
