Jiangshan is a county-level city situated in the Quzhou prefecture-level city within the southwest region of Zhejiang Province, China. It borders the province of Jiangxi to the west and is located approximately 250 kilometers southwest of Hangzhou, which serves as the provincial capital. As of 1999, the city had a recorded population of 563,196.
The city is distinguished as the only county-level city within Quzhou. Its name is derived from its geographical features: "Jiang" refers to river and "Shan" refers to mountain. These elements are represented by a river that flows through the city and the scenic Mt. Jianglang, which is located on its border.
