Dengzhou, formerly known as Deng County, is a county-level city located in the southwest of Henan province, China. The city covers a total area of 2,294 km² (886 sq mi) and has a total population of approximately 1,500,000 people. Its urban area encompasses 35 km², housing an urban population of 300,000.
Geographically, Dengzhou is situated adjacent to the borders of Hubei and Shaanxi provinces. It occupies a central position within the triangle formed by the cities of Zhengzhou, Wuhan, and Xi'an, remaining roughly equidistant from all three locations.
