Yukou was the original heir apparent of Duke Xuan of Chen, who served as the sixteenth ruler of the ancient Chinese state of Chen during the Spring and Autumn period.
In 672 BC, during the twenty-first year of Duke Xuan's reign, his favorite concubine gave birth to a son named Kuan. Following this birth, Duke Xuan killed Yukou and appointed Kuan as the new heir apparent.
