Shijiazhuang is the capital and most populous city of Hebei Province in China. It is situated approximately 266 kilometres (165 mi) southwest of Beijing.
The city administers eight districts, three county-level cities, and eleven counties. Geographically, it is located to the east of the Taihang Mountains, a range that extends over 400 km (250 mi) from north to south with an average elevation between 1,500 and 2,000 m.
