Liaoyang is a prefecture-level city located in east-central Liaoning province, China. It is situated along the Taizi River and is positioned approximately one hour south of Shenyang, which serves as the provincial capital.
The city serves as an educational hub, housing several vocational colleges and the College of Foreign Studies at Liaoning University. For sports enthusiasts, the city features a modern sports facility that hosts a limited number of professional basketball and volleyball games. As of 2020, the population distribution shows that those aged 15 to 59 make up the majority of the residents at 62.26%.
