Gaoxian, also known as Gao County, is a county located in the Sichuan Province of China. It operates under the administration of Yibin city and serves as a regional administrative division within the province.
The county seat is situated approximately 48 kilometers (30 miles) from Yibin city. As of 2019, the county had a total population of 526,400, with 171,000 residents living in the urban area. The geography of the region is characterized by significant forest cover, which accounts for about half of its land area.
The Nanguang River flows through the county, serving as a tributary to the Yangtze River. These geographical features define the landscape and water systems of the Gaoxian region.
