Shizuishan

China

Shizuishan, formerly known as Shizuizi, is a prefecture-level city located in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It serves as the northernmost prefecture within the region and ranks as its second most populous city, following the regional capital of Yinchuan.

Geographically, the city is situated on the western bank of the Yellow River, specifically on the western side of the Ordos Loop. It is bordered by Inner Mongolia on all sides except to the south. Historically, Shizuishan functioned as a significant center for caravans traveling northern routes between Beijing and the Ordos Desert.
