Qiying (also known as Keying or Ch'i-ying) was a Manchu statesman and official who served during China's Qing dynasty. A member of the imperial house of Aisin Gioro, he began his political career within the Imperial Clan Court.
He is primarily noted for conducting several peace treaties with Western powers on behalf of the Chinese government. His notable diplomatic work included negotiating the Treaty of Nanking in 1842, which concluded the First Opium War with Britain. In 1858, he was tasked with settling the Arrow War with Britain and France; however, because the Xianfeng Emperor repudiated the resulting settlement, Qiying was forced to commit suicide.
