Zhalantun, also known as Jalan Tun or ᠵᠠ ᠯᠠᠨ ᡨᡠ᠋ᠨ, is a city and administrative division located within the Hulunbuir Prefecture-level city in the Inner Mongolia region of China. It is situated in the northeastern part of the province, specifically in the southeastern foothills of the Greater Khingan mountains. The area borders Heilongjiang province to the east.
The geography of Zhalantun is characterized by numerous forests and streams, as well as the Yalu River, which should not be confused with the river located on the Sino-Korean border. The region is primarily recognized for its hunting and fishing activities.
