Wuhai

China

Wuhai is a prefecture-level city and regional center located in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China. It is situated on the Yellow River between the Gobi and Ordos deserts. By area, it is the smallest prefecture-level division within the region.

The current city was formed in 1976 through the amalgamation of Wuda on the left (west) bank and Haibowan on the right (east) bank of the Yellow River. Notably, Wuhai is one of the few cities with an antipode that is not only on land but is also another inhabited city; its antipode is located almost exactly on the city of Valdivia, Chile.
