Hohhot is the capital and largest city of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region in northern China. Formerly known as Guihua or Kweisui (Guisui), it serves as the primary administrative, economic, and cultural center for the region.
As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 3,446,100 inhabitants. The metropolitan area includes four urban districts and the Tumed Left Banner, with approximately 2,944,889 residents living within these specific boundaries.
